The COZUNO’s SKOURA name come from a beautiful place on this earth ( Skoura-Marocco).

As a guitar player, could i imagine traveling without a guitar ?  Nope !

What if the Inspiration come from your road trip , and your guitar is at home ?

We all know the unconvenience of travelling with restricted lugages in dimensions and weight. For that reason , lots of guitar players let their 6 string companion at home.

The challenge with the COZUNO’s SKOURA was to create and handbuild a real guitar  (not a guitalélé or a toy!) that could be played effortlessly electrified or unplugged.

To achieve that goal, I compared all of the guitar , bass and uke scales  (from 15” to 35”) to finally chose the 17-1/2”  scale. There is different reasons to that choice:

. first , the 17,5” scale is half the 35” bass scale,  which means the SKOURA neck  is like  a traditionnal long scale Bass neck who start at  the 12th . So the SKOURA could easily be a 4 or 5 string bass an octave higher .

. second, the 17,5” is like you cut a standard Gibson les paul scaled neck (24,75”) at the 6th fret. All of the fret distances of the SKOURA between the nut and the 18th fret (yes 18th!) are  the same as a  24,75” scale guitar between the 6th and the 24th frets. So all of your fingers are 100% at home when playing the COZUNO’s SKOURA neck !

There is lots of more COZUNO’s innovative appointements to the SKOURA  specs. In disorder you will find:

. a Semi-Hollow Body with a screwed back . Rather than making a hole for the  electronic control plate with screws on the back, i choose to make an intercheangeable  solid back who could be easily unscrewed to put a deeper back if you need to increase the unplugged  volume of the SKOURA.

. A Carbon reinforced , neck through construction .

. a multi  fretwired fretboard with two different fretwire gauge (medium from 1st to 12th frets , and small from 13th to 18th)  to increase intonation , playability and fingers comfort.

.Angled headstock to increase string tension, dynamic and sustain

. a real Standard tuning (E-A-D-G-B-E) guitar , without any loose feel

. One pickup configuration with one volume knob
